Commercials, viral videos, and all other forms of advertising have been criticized for their "exaggerations" "scams", and even "lies". When someone bring up this option with me personally one specific image comes to mind, Fast Food Commercials.

Ahhh Yes! the lovely and deceiving McDonald's, Wendy's, Burger King etc. commercials that reveal images of deliciously glorious looking burgers. Well its one thing on TV and something completely different, even incomparable in real life.

Recently McDonald's had realized the innumerable objections to what customers were seeing on TV and the product they were actually getting. Additionally, McDonald's ran numerous social media efforts that had been meant to illustrate personal experiences with McDonald's. This effort backfired and consumers Tweeted about their horror stories and unhappiness with the food and its' appearance.

In response the corporation created it's own viral campaign revealing the type of photo editing that went into creating a commercial. The end result is the video "Our Food. Your Questions," which debuted at No. 2 on the Viral Video Chart, with 5 million views. In detail, the video spends extra time illustrating how a food stylist painstakingly browns the burger's edges and places each piece of cheese, pickle and onion before strategically injecting the sandwich with ketchup and mustard. Compared with the Big Mac you are served in minutes at your local store, this process takes hours and seems to explain why the burger looks so much better in advertisements. In all, the video, seems like an effort by McDonald's to take control of its brand image online, to expose the inner workings of the company instead of letting someone else do it which has gotten a positive response from their audience.

Nobody like controversy over their brand, or do they? Today controversy over advertisements is getting brands more play then there otherwise would be. And not in a bad way.

Take for instance Liquid Plumr. Now the 18-24 generation would not be searching through the internet in hopes of watching the newest drain cleaning ad. But, the Plumr snagged us with their Sexy Vid. Because this ad. led to so much controversy in the form of protesting moms, the advertisement had a million view this week.

I just saw the video and thought it was hilarious. It shows a woman's grocery-aisle fantasy about a pair of muscular plumbers that really get her flustered. Other brands have utilized such a tactic to grab attention; as M&M, Volkswagen, and Old Spice.

So controversy may not be such a bad thing after all.

The insanity of Cousins keeps on coming. Cousins, the directors who did the unauthorized scandalous 'Newlywed Skittles' spot last year have come back with a sequel. This same couple that were seen having Skittles sex in the last spot are back--- and expecting!

Awkward part about it is that Daddy is expecting a Skittle....but what arises is not short of an issue. See for yourself!

A bit graphic and a nice Jersey reference in the end. Very nice.

BIZARRE and HILARIOUS

In Brazil Nivea demos its fun new ad. for sun protection! and I love it.

AgenciaClick created a giant outdoor mosaic composed of white beads that react to the sun's ultra violent rays (here.). The advertisement shows a woman suning herself in stunning color.

During the day, when the sun is scorchin, the colors are bright with white lettering remaining white due to the artist slathering them with Nivea Sun. At night the entire surface is white. This is really a great concept!

So the Chirstmas of advertising has passed us, and now brands are reaping the benefits of their agency's hard work and dedication.

Now we look and see whose spot really made it! AdAge Magazine along with partner Blufin Labs generated data on the 10 Super Bowl spots that revealed the highest levels of response across social media.

NUMBER ONE being, one of my personal favorites, H&M's "Bodywear for H&M." Yum! David Beckham close-ups wearing nothing but some thighty whiteys, Ou lala. This spot was simple, done in black and white, while a camera pans up and down Beckhams bod. Gotta admit it is a rather simple BUT a striking campaign. I know when I first walked by H&M's window with the large stand-up Beckham, I had to do a double-take and instagram that ishh. This really gets the girls attention, but does that really drive a man's decision about what underwear to buy? From the men I know, the respect for this soccer player isn't too great. Many don't idolize him as they do Ronaldo or Messi. Maybe having either of them would have made a greater impact on males and females alike. Yet,  to be honest the underwear H&M is advertising here is really nothing special or sexy. A pair of white boxers and or briefs? uhhh..not really cutting it  for me, but if they are on the body of an all-star soccer player then thats another story. But, I mean but if it gets a woman's attention, then boys listen up.

As H&M had 108,914 number of social media comments, other top ten spots included Chrysler, Chevy, Budlight, Samsung, and Doritos enjoyed two top ten spots. Also included, was a personal favorite, Pepsi's "King's Court" ft. Elton John (too good).

Well this is new? and slightly annoying. But, I like.

Despite how intrusive and annoying this little ad. may be, it works. If I were to look out my door and see this, what I would immediatly think is "dang I wish it was real," then run to my computer and order. Cause lets face it, I'm a hungry girl and please tell me who the hell can resist those breadsticks and that garlic sauce, I'm  just curious. But, if your just ringing my doorbell leaving this in my peephole and then running, taht would be a completely different story. Don't mess with people's food Papa John's.

So A for innovation Papa John's, but I don't see this one sticking.
